Happy Mother's Day!

Mother’s Day is a lot more than Hallmark Cards, flowers, long lines at local brunch buffets and countless advertising campaigns. Celebrations of mom and motherhood has been going on for thousands of years. In more recent times the day has been celebrated since 1908 and became an official national holiday when president Woodrow Wilson named the second Sunday in May Mother’s Day with the first celebration on May 9^th, 1914. Another important yearly holiday this week is Bike to Work Day on May 9^th. Leave your car keys at home, dust off that spandex outfit, or whatever else you are into, and join thousands of Bay Area cyclists for breakfast and other goodies at one of the many energizer stations on your way to work this Thursday morning.
