Is Summer over yet?

Kids are back at school, Halloween is slowly creeping upon us and the first signs of Christmas are already evident in some of the big-box stores. Summer may be over, but fortunately there are still exciting local outdoor events, a few of which are listed in this news update.

Don’t forget to celebrate a great American dish on National Cheeseburger Day the 18^th next week. The origin of the hamburger can be dated back hundreds if not thousands of years as far as the ancient Egypt. It was first introduced in the US at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis. The cheeseburger however was a pure American invention when a creative soul in the 1930s decided to incorporate a slice of cheese into the already popular sandwich.
