Salons: It’s time for some marketing

As a salon owner you know the best time of the year is about to hit just in a few weeks! Everyone wants to look good and clean in holiday pictures. Everyone thinks of haircut. While for many the obvious choice is to go to their preferred salon, many are willing to try something new. That brings perfect opportunity for you – salon owners – to attract new customers, or generate more business from existing customers.

Offer something great to existing customers. It’s the best time to upsell add on services such as shampoo, massage, etc. Offer them at a reduced price to customers who haven’t tried this before, and you’ll get them hooked for life. The easiest and most cost-effective way to reach out to existing customers is via email or SMS.

Adjust opening hours based on what makes sense for holiday shoppers. Most people are free over the weekends. No wonder why salons are busiest during weekends. But your customers need time for shopping also. This is the time to open doors for extended hours. Who wouldn’t want to get a nice hair cut and a massage after tiring day of shopping? Make sure to update your opening hours on your salon website, Google My Business Page, Yelp, and everywhere else where you are listed. Also, a little online advertising would go a long way.
